Mount Pleasant town council set to discuss, potentially vote on Highway 41 project

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Mount Pleasant Town Council is expected to discuss and potentially vote Tuesday evening on Charleston County’s long-debated Highway 41 Corridor Improvements Project.

It’s a transportation plan aimed at easing congestion in one of the region’s fastest-growing areas.

The proposal includes widening portions of Highway 41 in a 4-3-4 configuration and constructing the Laurel Hill Parkway, a two-lane road connecting Highway 41 to Park West Boulevard. It also calls for drainage improvements, boardwalk crossings over wetlands, and other safety upgrades…
