Since Shane Beamer took over as South Carolina’s head coach, recruiting the state of North Carolina has been a priority for the Gamecocks. In last year’s class and so far in 2027, the Gamecocks’ efforts are paying off.
It took a few recruiting cycles for the Gamecocks to gain traction in the Tar Heel State. Nick Barrett was committed to South Carolina before Beamer arrived in Columbia as a member of the 2021 class.
