SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — This week’s Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses Hometown Sports Hero is Thomas Poirier.
The North Providence native won a Gold Medal in the 400 Meters and Silver in the 200 Meters and 4×100 Relays at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. The 21-year old shining in his first Nationals appearance.
