SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 27-year-old San Diego man died after hitting a tree then a wall off a freeway ramp early Sunday morning.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating after a man driving on the Interstate 805 southbound on-ramp from Clairemont Mesa Boulevard veered off the road and hit a tree before crashing directly into a cinder block wall.

Officers arrived at the scene around 2:28 a.m. on Sunday. The driver was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
