DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – An early morning fire call in the town of Ledgeview had fire officials from De Pere arriving on scene to see the garage of a duplex fully up in flames.
Dispatch was told by an occupant in the home that they went into the garage and saw their e-bike on fire.
Bay Beach closing early due to “excessive heat”
“When crews arrived on scene, the fire, the whole garage was involved, and it was extending into the attic and the duplex next door,” City of De Pere Fire Rescue Chief Brett Jansen said. “Upon extinguishing it and getting it under control, we found the point of origin was right kind of near where the occupants said that the e-bike was on fire.”
The cause remains under investigation, but De Pere Fire Rescue is taking the time to make sure the community is educated on the proper ways to charge your e-bike…
