Gov. Bob Ferguson tried and failed to make the case for “why Washington” to Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol after the coffee giant had already warned the governor that higher taxes would damage the state’s business climate and after the company announced a massive expansion in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to newly obtained meeting briefing documents obtained by The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI, prepared for an April 15, 2026, meeting at Starbucks headquarters in Seattle, Ferguson was expected to meet with Niccol and Starbucks Executive Vice President Dominic Carr for a 45-minute visit that included a guided coffee tasting followed by a sit-down discussion.
