Mother of drainage incident victim urges Medina City Council to address issues with private lake

MEDINA — The mother of one of the three people rescued after being pulled into a drainage pipe at a private lake last week urged Medina City Council on Monday to take action to address long-standing drainage and maintenance issues at the Twin Oaks neighborhood lake.

Jessica Karas spoke during the public comment portion of the council meeting, saying years of deferred action nearly cost her family both of her children when her son, Hudson Karas, was pulled into the drainage system while helping clear debris from the drain and his sister, Grace Karas, tried to rescue him during the July 6 incident.
