GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Atwater Brewery’s Grand Rapids taproom is expected to close this month.
Bradley Company is listing the Atwater space at 201 Michigan St. NW near Monroe Avenue NW for lease, the commercial real estate firm confirmed to News 8. Atwater intends to vacate the 6,000-square-foot property on the building’s ground floor at the end of the month, according to Bradley Company. The Grand Rapids location has been open for nearly a decade.

Earlier this summer, Detroit entrepreneur Mark Rieth announced he was buying Atwater Brewery from Tilray Brands — a “full-circle moment” for Rieth, who previously owned and operated the craft brewer from 2005 to 2020. The deal, which was expected to close this summer, included Atwater’s Detroit and Grosse Pointe taprooms but did not include the Grand Rapids location, according to a report from Crain’s Grand Rapids Business.

The retail listing touts the Atwater Brewery space’s floor-to-ceiling windows, mix of indoor and outdoor seating, street visibility and proximity to DeVos Place, apartments, hotels and offices. Bradley Company says the space could house a restaurant, retailer, office, fitness concept or showroom.
