Taunton Police Officer Joe Ryan — the highest paid city employee in 2025 — was able to earn nearly $575,000 in 2025 thanks in large part to working 3,530 hours of overtime and 349 hours of paid details, according to data obtained by the Taunton Daily Gazette through a public records request.
That’s a staggering 75 hours a week on average, 52 weeks a year in overtime and details alone.
