Virginia Department of Health offers immunizations and physicals at upcoming back-to-school events

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – With back-to-school just weeks away, health officials are urging families not to wait until the last minute for required shots and school physicals. The Roanoke City and Alleghany Health District said appointments are already filling up and if kids aren’t up to date, they could be delayed from starting class.

“The earlier you get in, the better, because it’s a very busy time,” said Jerryann West, Public Health Nurse Supervisor for the Virginia Department of Health.
