TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida couple is suing Publix Super Markets after they claimed they fell ill from blueberries contaminated with E. coli, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.
On July 3, Publix announced that Frutas and Hortalizas del Sur, a produce company, was recalling frozen GreenWise Organic IQF Blueberries 10 oz. due to a potential E. coli contamination.

The recalled products were shipped to Publix stores across the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Their lot code was 60401 and best by date was Feb. 9, 2028.
By the time of the FDA’s recall, 12 people were confirmed to have fallen ill after consuming the frozen blueberries between May 11, 2026, and June 5, 2026.
