MADISON, Wis. (WBAY/WISN) — Democratic Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez, a candidate in Wisconsin’s five-way gubernatorial primary less than a month away, fired her campaign manager, Kara Spencer, this week over financial irregularities tied to the campaign.
Rodriguez said Monday that hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations were apparently double-counted, leaving the campaign with far less cash on hand than she had been led to believe.
“I am hurt, angry and disappointed by someone I trusted to run my campaign. This was not just a breach of my trust, but our volunteers, our donors and the voters who deserve better,” Rodriguez said…
