Judge sentences man to life with 25-year minimum in fatal Eugene stabbing

EUGENE, Ore. — A Lane County Circuit Court judge sentenced Joshua Margarito Saldivar to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years for the December 2, 2024 murder of Douglas Beinhauer, the Lane county District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

According to the report, a bystander in the area of Oak Alley, near Broadway Alley, witnessed Saldivar assaulting Beinhauer by stomping on his head.

The bystander verbally intervened and Saldivar immediately fled from the scene…
