CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 15-year-old girl died Tuesday several days after being shot on Independence Boulevard, police say.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the shooting happened at 7:45 p.m. Friday night near the Independence exit or Briar Creek Road. Initially, two female juvenile victims took themselves to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One dead in east Charlotte shooting: Medic
On Tuesday, July 14, one of the victims, 15-year-old Ya-Monnie Houston, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The second victim remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition.
