HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — During a Tuesday morning fiscal court meeting, the Henderson County’s Planning Commission recommended that the court members consider creating an ordinance for data centers.
Executive Director Brian Bishop says that if a proposal comes along, parameters will already be set in place. Bishop recommended a model ordinance created by the Kentucky Resource Council, a statewide environmental law and advocacy organization. He says the area commission used it as a baseline, creating a possible one for Henderson.
“What we have done is taken that and then made it even more strong,” Bishop said. “So what we have done, we’ve increased the setbacks. We even decreased the noise limit. We have added new public notice steps. We have created language that definitively says that a permit expires after one year if it has not been acted on.”…
