Volksfest season is almost here, and the celebration is getting an early start with a special event just for families.
A Fun Start to Volksfest Season
Before the Germania Männerchor‘s 64th Annual Volksfest officially begins in August, the organization is hosting its annual Kids Day this Saturday, July 18, giving local children a fun day filled with free school supplies, food, and activities before the new school year begins.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 916 North Fulton Avenue and is open to all children 12 and under.
Free Backpacks and School Supplies
One of the biggest highlights is the free backpacks packed with school supplies. They’re available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, making it a great opportunity for families to get a head start on back-to-school shopping.
Family Friendly Activities for Kids
Kids can also enjoy free pizza, meet friendly animals in a petting zoo, and even climb aboard Evansville Fire Department trucks for an up-close look at the equipment firefighters use every day. Meanwhile, parents can grab lunch with bratwurst and other German favorites available for purchase.
