Lake Township schedules zoning hearing, hires police officers

The Lake Township Trustees, during their July 13 meeting, scheduled a public hearing for Monday, July 27, at 5 p.m., immediately before the regular business meeting. The hearing will review Zoning Amendment No. 26-256, which would rezone three parcels on Cleveland Avenue from General Commercial (C-2) and Medium Density Residential (R-2) to High Density Residential (R-3). The Zoning Commission previously recommended approval of the amendment June 30.

In other business, the board agreed to hire four officers for the Uniontown Police Department: Darrell Claytor Jr. as a full-time officer at $31.02 per hour, and Hunter Batchik, Gerritt Kenepp and Ronald Stepahnoff as part-time auxiliary officers at $25 per hour. All of the hires are effective Aug. 1.

Trustees agreed to adjust the compensation for Road Department auxiliary employees to $25 per hour for those with commercial driver’s licenses and $20 per hour for those without commercial driver’s licenses, effective July 18…
