COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – A Columbus dog park is expanding its offerings with the launch of alcohol service, with all proceeds benefiting Paws Humane Society’s animal care mission.
The Yard, a dog park created by Paws Humane Society, is now serving beer, cocktails, and other beverages from a renovated Airstream Bar on its grounds. According to the organization, every dollar of profit generated at The Yard goes directly back to Paws Humane Society to support homeless, abused, neglected, and injured animals throughout the Chattahoochee Valley.
‘Bigger than a dog park’
“This has always been about creating something bigger than a dog park,” said Courtney Pierce, Executive Director at Paws Humane Society. “We wanted to build a destination where the community naturally gathers, knowing that every membership, day pass, cup of coffee, event ticket, and now every drink purchased helps save homeless pets.”
The Yard was designed as a perpetual fundraiser rather than a one-time event, offering supervised off-leash play for dogs while their owners socialize, relax, or work remotely. The venue hosts live music, trivia nights, themed events, food trucks, watch parties, movie nights, private rentals, and seasonal celebrations.
Safety and access
Unlike traditional dog parks, every dog entering The Yard is required to be registered, vaccinated, and screened through the Bark Membership app…
