Land in Escondido has never been worth so much: $25 billion

According to Jordan Z. Marks, San Diego County Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk (ARCC), the recently completed 2026 tax roll assessment revealed the gross assessed value of taxable properties, including residential, commercial and industrial land, in the city of Escondido is now at a record $25,321,473,958, a 5.25% increase from last year’s assessed value total of $24,057,712,252.

For all of San Diego County, Marks said the gross assessed value of all taxable properties in San Diego County – including residential, commercial and industrial land — is at a record $845 billion, the highest amount in county history.
