Jaivon Jefferson, 18, of Des Moines, and a 17-year-old female suffered gunshot injuries. Both have since been released from the hospital, but the CPD said Jefferson’s injuries were significant and he was in the hospital for some time.

Clive Chief of Police Mark Rehberg said, “This has been a long investigation, and it took the courage of others to finally come forward and provide information on what had occurred.” He continued, “At no time did the detectives working this case give up or stop searching for witnesses and leads. As we know, there is always someone who sees something critical. That was what it took for this case to progress into an arrest today. These same detectives are also continuing to follow-up on other leads and information and will file additional charges as appropriate.”…
