MADISON, Wis. — During your next visit to Tenney Park, you may notice a large patch of soil floating in the Tenney Lagoon. It’s a “floating island” meant to help the natural habitat of the lagoon.
What You Need To Know
- Clearwater Collective launched a floating island out on the Tenney Lagoon to help the natural habitat of the lagoon
- As native and hydroponic plants start to grow on it, they’ll begin to naturally filter water pollution
- In time, Clearwater Collective will measure what the floating island is filtering out of the lagoon
Aaron Cutler and Elliot Gilfillan, with Clearwater Collective, led the volunteer effort to fundraise for and create the small, floating island.
