Wilder, Idaho has joined the Flock camera conversation, here’s how they are moving forward

WILDER, Idaho (CBS2) — The City of Wilder is adding new privacy protections to its contract with Flock Safety, prohibiting the company from using data collected by the city’s automated license plate reader cameras to train artificial intelligence.

The change comes through an amendment to the city’s existing agreement with Flock Safety, whose cameras have been in use by the Wilder Police Department since 2025. The amendment does not add cameras or expand the program. Instead, it limits how the company can use data generated by the city’s system.
