BARBERTON — Barberton City Council July 13 approved an $84,000 contract with Verdantas LLC for testing and redesign of the Block 7 parking lot, also known as the “purple lot,” at 505 W. Tuscarawas Ave.
Councilman Dallas Moore (I-Ward 3), however, expressed concern with the up-front cost of the contract.
“I’m not confident this [project] is not going to cost much more than anticipated, knowing what is under there,” Moore said, adding that he feels Council should reconsider spending this amount for the testing portion of the project “before we even start.”…
