SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — Dorchester County is asking residents to weigh in on a proposed widening of Highway 17-A before plans move forward, with a public drop-in meeting scheduled for Thursday evening at Summerville High School.
The county is proposing the widening of 6.5 miles of Highway 17-A along Boone Hill Road and improving intersections at Research Center Drive and Luden Drive. The plan would add lanes, improve intersections and create dedicated space for cyclists and pedestrians.
