Clinton Council: authorizes an industrial park

With its action July 6, Clinton City Council has cleared the way for Laurens County and Spartanburg County to enter into an industrial park agreement that will benefit Clinton’s newest industry.

Coastal Pre-cast Systems LLC is building a $9 million facility at the intersection of Hwy 56 and I-26, within the Clinton city limits, and the agreement allows the company to pay a reduced rate in place of property tax and qualify for state jobs-creation incentives.

Initially, 70 people are expected to work at the pre-cast concrete (for bridges and piers) complex. The company has been advertising in Upstate South Carolina for employees, through the South Carolina Press Association website…
