PECATONICA, Ill. (WIFR) – Pec Playhouse Theatre breaks ground Wednesday, July 15, on its new theater at 202 W. Third St. in downtown Pecatonica.
The community theater group said the project follows a successful 2025 capital campaign and will transform a former industrial building into a state-of-the-art, fully accessible performance space.
“We are so grateful for our enthusiastic patrons and donors who have helped move this project forward,” said Laurie S. Miller, treasurer and capital campaign manager for Pec Playhouse.
Pec Playhouse has produced live community theater for 35 years, with most shows previously staged at 314 Main St. in downtown Pecatonica. That building was destroyed in February 2021, when a buildup of snow and ice caused the roof to collapse…
