Christian Among Four Counties Receiving More Disaster Housing

Christian County is among four western Kentucky counties that will benefit from a historic $223.2 million affordable housing initiative announced Thursday by Gov. Andy Beshear. The investment will fund 953 new income-restricted rental units across Christian, Graves, Hopkins and Warren counties to help address housing shortages following the devastating December 2021 tornadoes.

The projects, funded through a partnership between the Kentucky Housing Corporation and the state’s Disaster Recovery Program, represent the largest housing development effort in the history of the Kentucky Housing Corporation and the Department for Local Government.
