Homeowners in Lake Worth Beach may be able to skip a building permit for some small residential projects under a new Florida law, but city officials are warning residents not to start work without written approval.
The City of Lake Worth Beach said new residential building permit exemption requirements took effect July 1 under Florida House Bill 803. The law allows some projects on single-family homes valued at less than $7,500 to qualify for an exemption from the building permit process.
