EDWARDSVILLE – A St. Louis woman pleaded guilty to burglary in return for prosecutors dropping home invasion and other charges stemming from a Jan. 19 incident in Alton.
Shania B. Cook, 21, of St. Louis, was originally from Alton when the charges were filed. Cook pled guilty on April 29 in Madison County Circuit Court to residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and was sentenced to six years in prison.
A more serious charge of home invasion, a Class X felony, and lesser charges of criminal damage to property and electronic harassment, both Class 4 felonies, were dropped as part of the plea before Circuit Judge Kyle Napp on April 29…
