Reporter’s Notebook: A new state law comes after a WBTV investigation into a child’s death

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The home on Charlotte’s east side where Dominique Moody spent most of her six years of life has been demolished.

The grass now grows tall around the abandoned city garbage can, a stillness taking the place of the news crews, police cars, and an unknown arsonist that descended on the property last December.

A neighbor drove by as this reporter made one last visit to the property in July…
