More than 6,000 PG&E customers lose power in Contra Costa County

More than 6,000 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers lost power in Contra Costa County on Thursday afternoon during an unplanned outage, according to the utility’s outage center.

The outage was reported to PG&E at 3:50 p.m. and affected 6,033 customers as of 4:20 p.m., according to PG&E outage information. There was no estimated restoration time.

PG&E said a crew was working to restore power and that its team was evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make repairs before safely restoring service.
