BOISE, Idaho — Collision Cam, a Utah based company, has expanded into the Treasure Valley in the past few months, providing people with footage of “accident prone” intersections for free. The company allows people who have been involved in accidents to access that video and use it to receive payouts from insurance, or to show to law enforcement.
Founder Tate Langston said he has experienced issues with finding video during an accident, which sparked his interest in creating the company.
“Back in 2023, my vehicle was actually hit by a drunk driver who fled the scene, and I remember wishing that there was some evidence of who had done that because I was just left to pay for all the damages myself,” said Langston. “I remember wishing there was footage, and we had called the city, asked for footage, and no one had any.”…
