COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Columbus has a new city manager for the first time in more than 20 years. Mayor Skip Henderson nominated former city councilor Tyson Begly in May to replace Isaiah Hugley, who was fired by city council after more than two decades on the job. Hugley has since been elected Columbus’ next mayor.
Begly sat down for a one-on-one interview Friday to discuss his plans for the city.
Goals and priorities
Begly said his focus will be on execution rather than politics.
“My goal is not to be very political, my goal is to be heads down work, execute,” Begly said. “We want to make the services for the citizens as efficient and as timely as possible.”…
