WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — The cyclosporiasis outbreak is keeping West Michigan labs that test for the parasite busy.
Not every provider tests in house — many send samples out of state. But University of Michigan Health-West does conduct its own testing at its main campus in Wyoming, looking for answers in test tubes and machines.
“Yesterday was probably the first day that we’re at the point where it’s like, ‘Are we going to finish all of our samples for today within the 24 hours?’” Justine Long, University of Michigan Health-West microbiology technical supervisor, told News 8 Friday.
