Spokane and Coeur d’Alene socked in with smoke

SPOKANE, Wash. — A southwesterly wind is pulling in smoke from fires south of Spokane, including the Lyons Ferry Fire, resulting in very unhealthy and hazardous air quality for Spokane and Coeur d’Alene.

The Lyons Ferry Fire, burning into southwest Whitman County, increased in size overnight and showed signs of active fire behavior resulting in a plume of smoke directed right at the Spokane area.
