NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — A 26-year-old was arrested Thursday night after a two-vehicle crash on South Aviation Avenue in North Charleston left one person dead. Police said officers responded at 10:20 p.m. to the area between Midland Park Road and Aviation Avenue.
When they arrived, one driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said that vehicle was overturned in the roadway.
The Arrest
North Charleston police identified the arrested driver as Andres Gomez Perez, who is from North Charleston. He was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license.
Police said the other vehicle involved had minor damage. Gomez Perez was taken to Al Canon Detention Center pending charges.
