Wichita property owners could face higher tax bills in 2027 after the City Council moved to set a proposed maximum city tax levy of nearly $189 million—and formally signaled it intends to collect more property tax revenue than the prior year.
The proposed cap lands at $188,757,769, according to the city council agenda—based on an anticipated mill levy of 32.340 mills applied to an estimated citywide assessed valuation of roughly $5.84 billion.
