HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A 65-year-old Canton man is dead after he was struck by a pickup truck along U.S. 276 on Wednesday, July 15.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 4:38 a.m. on Pigeon Road, near Hale Farm Road, in Haywood County.
Troopers said the pedestrian, identified as Michael Eric Taylor, was walking in the roadway when the driver of a truck traveling north saw him and tried to swerve to avoid him.
