JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson received additional funding for non-recurring infrastructure projects in the third quarter of 2026.
This funding is part of a $4.8 billion nationwide VA spending initiative dedicated to repairing and improving health care centers within the Veterans Health Administration’s maintenance program.
Lawrence County Hospital breaks ground on $8.6M renovation
Third-quarter 2026 funding projects for the Jackson VA include:
- EHRM Training and Admin Space Support
- Renovate Nutrition and Food Service
- Repair the roof covering the Research and Education Facility
- Repair and Replace 2nd Story Roof over the main hospital
- Renovate Primary Care Blue Clinic to convert to new Women’s Health Clinic
“This funding allows the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center to continue modernizing and improving, ensuring our facility remains safe, efficient, and equipped to provide high-quality care for our Veterans in central Mississippi,” said Rolanda Webb, acting executive director.
Of the total $4.8 billion committed for fiscal year 2026, VA has obligated a total of $2.2 billion.
