A man was found dead early Friday morning after Boulder County sheriff’s deputies searched the Niwot area in response to a report that he was experiencing a mental health crisis, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
The Boulder County Communications Center received the call shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, July 17. Dispatchers were able to obtain a general location from the man’s cellphone, but not an exact location, authorities said. Cellphone pings indicated that he was moving through the Niwot area.
Deputies searched on foot and in vehicles, with drone assistance also used during the operation. A person matching the description of the man deputies were trying to find was located deceased shortly before 6:45 a.m. near Meadowdale Drive and Niwot Road, according to the sheriff’s office…
