TPD promotes eight officers following city’s voluntary separation program

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Police Department promoted eight officers to key command staff positions Monday as the department continues to adjust following the city’s voluntary separation program, which led to the departure of several high-ranking employees.

The promotions mark the second round of leadership changes following the buyout.

The city’s voluntary separation program, announced in April, was offered to employees hired before Jan. 1, 2026, as part of a cost-saving effort. Employees who accepted the offer received either $20,000 or 12 weeks of pay, along with health insurance through the end of the year…
