St. Louis Public Schools parents have launched a petition calling for the district to provide more community meetings and clarity around its school closures plan.
The Future Ready SLPS plan contains three proposed models that could close anywhere from 15 to 22 schools, dissolve the magnet school system and introduce more neighborhood schools. It would also sharply reduce the district’s transportation offerings. Schools with gifted learning programs will be maintained.
