LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – Lansing voters will decide in two weeks whether a popular riverfront gathering space can be sold from public to private ownership.
The Lansing Shuffle — a collection of local food vendors, bars, and shuffleboard courts — sits on city-owned public property downtown. An Aug. 4 ballot measure would authorize the city to negotiate a sale of that land to the venue’s operators.
What a ‘yes’ vote would mean
A yes vote would allow the city to begin sale negotiations with the Lansing Shuffle’s operators, who say they have invested more than $4 million into the property.
