RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Mary Clem, the beloved co-founder of Virginia’s oldest free and charitable clinic, sadly died, officials announced on Monday.
According to a June 20 social post, Clem — who was just 22 years old in 1968 — helped connect volunteer healthcare providers with people in need of medical care. Her efforts eventually contributed to the creation of the Fan Free Clinic, now known as Health Brigade, located at 1010 N. Thompson St.
