ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating after a woman was critically injured in a shooting early Tuesday in north St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), officers learned of the shooting around 12:30 a.m. after a 44-year-old woman was dropped off at a local hospital. Police said she sustained a gunshot wound to her back.
A preliminary investigation revealed the woman was struck by gunfire from outside her home in the city’s Greater Ville neighborhood, SLMPD said. No other people inside the home were injured.
