A pair of early-morning police operations in Shreveport led to the arrests of two convicted felons on illegal firearm charges, highlighting ongoing proactive efforts to combat local gun violence.
Late-Night Patrol Yields Stolen Firearm and Drugs
The first arrest occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, when Shreveport police officers took Jermareo Kirkwood into custody. According to investigators, Kirkwood was found with both narcotics and a handgun in his possession.
A background check revealed the firearm had previously been reported stolen. Officers also confirmed Kirkwood has prior felony convictions related to both firearms and drugs.
Kirkwood currently faces multiple charges, including:
