KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A new seven-member advisory board is now overseeing Knox County’s Regional Detention Center, following leadership from the county and former leader Richard Bean.
The board’s formation comes after former director Richard Bean was forced to resign by Mayor Jacobs. Bean was accused of firing employees who reported issues at the facility to the state.
