Strong storms swept across southern New England, producing inches of rainfall in less than 24 hours. Wednesday morning marks the end of the torrential rain and flash flooding, but high humidity, gusty winds, and the chance for isolated showers remain before a cold front moves through later today.
Isolated Storms Possible This Afternoon
A cold front approaching from the west will spark scattered showers and thunderstorms during the mid to late afternoon and early evening. While many communities may not see any rain, any storm that does develop could become strong, producing damaging wind gusts. The storms will move offshore early tonight as the front clears the region.
