Task force meets to address issues facing public school districts across the St. Louis region

ST. LOUIS — A task force of public education and civic leaders met on Tuesday to address issues facing public districts across the St. Louis region.

Normandy Schools Collaborative is one of many districts hurting. Task force leaders said the district is facing a downgrade in accreditation in January 2027. That means it’ll lose local control and have to be run by the state.

Other districts, including Jennings, Riverview Gardens, Ritenour, and Hazelwood are facing similar problems…
