WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The City of Wichita is working to make roads and intersections safer for pedestrians.
At Tuesday’s city council meeting, the council voted to approve an estimated $600,000 to put toward pedestrian crossing improvements.
Improvements include adding pedestrian signals and other enhancements to crossings that already exist. Funds will be used for a pedestrian crossing of McLean Boulevard adjacent to Exploration place. It will also go towards evaluating the crossings at 1st and 2nd Streets at the Canal Route, along with evaluating a pedestrian crosswalk on Tyler north of 13th Street.
